METALLICA（金属乐队），队如其名，是世界首屈一指的重金属乐队，难能可贵的是，在音乐风潮变幻多番的欧美摇滚乐坛，METALLICA一直不曾随波逐流，始终坚持自己纯正的重金属音乐风格。乐队的成员每人都深怀绝技，这也正是METALLICA仗以辉煌20余年在同时期成名的重金属乐队早已销声匿迹的时候仍然屹立于摇滚乐坛的真正原因。METALLICA是乐坛罕见的几支由贝司主导的重金属乐队，乐队极具天赋的贝司手CLIFF BURTON技艺非凡，成为乐队的核心人物，BURTON的言行影响了乐队的每一个人，他也主导着乐队音乐个性的走向。1986年他在车祸中丧生，几乎宣布了乐队的灭亡。一名打法刚猛凌厉的顶级鼓手重金属乐队占据着非常重要的地位，DEF LEPPARD即是因为其单臂鼓手的原因，在演绎较重的作品时总是缺少一分雄壮的阳刚气息，而METALLICA的鼓手也是乐队的创始人ULRICH完全符合这样的要求。听过METALLICA的歌曲，就会发现他们的主音吉他非常的厉害，几乎每首歌曲中的大段吉他SOLO都具有非常的难度且极为耐听。最为难得的是主唱JAMES HETFIELD的超绝嗓音和唱功，JAMES HETFIELD的嗓音高亢时如钛金一般铿锵，却也有其柔和的一面。
《THE UNFORGIVEN》这首他们的柔情作品正好把JAMES HETFIELD刚柔并济的嗓音展露无遗。在一声像极的汽笛中，一连串听似简单却蕴含极高难度的吉他合弦逐步展开了前奏部分，紧随之贝司演绎出了音乐的主线，主唱刚劲沧桑的嗓音在音乐初始充分展现了他声线的粗犷特点，歌声比较”重”、”噪”，然而随之一转，主唱开始以难得展现的柔缓嗓音演绎音乐的承接部分：NEVER BE NEVER SEE/WON'T SEE WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN/WHAT I'VE FELT/WHAT I'VE KNOWN NEVER SHINED THROUGHT IN WHAT I'VE SHOWN/NEVER FREE NEVER ME SO I DUB THEE UNFORGIVEN，乐至此时，柔和中蕴含的沧桑悲意简直催人泪下。METALLICA无愧于重金属音乐头牌乐队的荣誉。

芬兰前卫金属团Stratovarius的主音吉他手Timo Tolkki和within temptation 主唱sharon合作的歌曲，无论女声还是吉他solo，都极尽深情凄美。而我个人还非常喜欢的，是这首歌的歌词，are you the one，反反复复问出了爱情的断肠滋味。

枪花乐队最具影响力的曲目是“DON’T CRY”和“NOVEMBER RAIN”（后面一首歌因出色的歌词获得了美国最佳社会先驱奖），“DON’T CRY”在billboard排行榜上停留将近3年（147）周，创下了摇滚乐的神话.DON’T CRY这首歌中枪花乐队一改从前的愤怒激烈，两名主唱一沧桑一哀婉低吟出一段令荡气回肠的柔情曲，而歌曲表达出的无奈和失意正是愤怒的极至阿。不止在歌收尾的地方，在歌起时就有淡淡的呻吟声，而且在整首歌里拖长的音非常之多，以我的听觉来看，他们应该是通过加长的哀鸣来表达一种撕心裂肺的心痛，在MTV版本中，两位主唱的女友皆因他们的不够珍惜而伤心离去，甚至香消玉陨，MTV用很长的篇幅来追忆从前的美好时光，悔恨的心痛表达的淋漓尽致。值得注意的是，在结尾的哀鸣中，主唱AXL.ROSE迎着从窗顶透射进的光尘颤抖双手，倏的一支美丽的白鸽振翅而去，或许这哀鸣中还隐藏着再续前缘的一种奢望

Lake of Tears的这首《To blossom blue》出自专集《Forever Autumn》，是我在偶然中听到的，却从此深深爱上了这只乐队，从歌中感到的，是一种无以为继般的悲伤和痛楚感觉，据说从来没有听过一首歌唱得这么悲伤，不像另一歌特Sopor Aeternus需要用哭腔来表达悲伤，相比之下，泪湖的《To blossom blue》只是运用了正常的唱腔，却能让人听的想哭。泪湖的这首歌与其它的歌特有所不同，如果不告诉你这是歌特金属，你肯定不会认为他们是一只格特金属乐队。不紧不慢的节奏，低沉的吟唱。
